Statement of awakening and faith :

I was reared in a very exclusive religious community. I had been taught from a small child that our particular church group included the only true followers of Jesus Christ. Eventually I realized that this was not true and decided to leave this environment.

Jesus led me into the full freedom of the gospel, and the absolute assurance that I have been saved, and that I have been sealed by the Holy Spirit. No one, no demon, no person, no false doctrine, no legalism can separate me from the love, the eternal love of my Savior and God.

Gilbert, this is a wonderful statement of awakening and faith. More than ever I am convinced that Adventism is the most deceptive of the cults and the most difficult to discern and to question. It most closely mimics the "real thing", and its members have the most articulate Christian-sounding defense.

The sad thing is that a huge percentage of active Adventists are not born again, and they do not have the spiritual understanding Paul discusses in 1 Corinthians 2 that enables them to believe and grasp the total completion of Jesus' work. Further, they really do not have a biblical understanding of Jesus' and the Holy Spirit's unity with the Father. This lack of understanding is not a result of poor cognitive skills or lack of education. It is the direct result of not having the spiritual discernment to grasp the mystery that is bigger than human words can articulate.

Only the Father in heaven can give a person the understanding of the true relationship and unity of Jesus and the Spirit with the Father. Only those who are made alive by the Holy Spirit can embrace this mystery with joy.

Praise God for His miraculous rescue of us from the domain of darkness and for His transferring us to the kingdom of His beloved Son (Col 1:13).
